Flights to India resume on Wednesday

The flights will resume on Wednesday (October 28) after agreeing to India's offer of an air bubble, which has been closed for six months. India has suspended air travel since March 12 to prevent corona virus infection. The sufferers are students, businessmen, patients and citizens of both countries. 56 flights a week will be operated on the basis of an agreement between the two countries.

According to the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), 9 categories of passengers will be able to travel except tourists. In addition, three attendants will be allowed to accompany one patient on a medical visa.
According to BCAA, three airlines from Bangladesh and five from India will operate the flights to Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and NovoAir will operate flights on behalf of Bangladesh. Five Indian airlines, Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, Vistara and GoAir will operate flights on behalf of India.
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, from March 21 to 31,BCAA announced the suspension of passenger flights to all international and domestic routes except to the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong and  Thailand. Another order then banned flights to all countries except China until April 6.
The ban was extended gradually upto April 14, April 30, May 6, May 18, May 30 and June 15 in coordination with public holidays. For the first time on June 16, flights from Dhaka to London and Qatar were allowed. Flights to other countries are  going to be resumed in continuation to that.
