International Desk:
The practice of delaying the day by one hour in winter to one hour later in summer may end this year. The hands of the clock have been set back one hour in all European countries yesterday.
With the onset of the global oil crisis in the 1980s, the practice of reducing oil consumption by enjoying more daylight began. Although it started in Germany, all the countries of the European Union later started adopting this practice.
However, the question arose whether it was possible to save energy at all by moving the clock back one hour in October and bringing it back in March. Critics say that this can lead to a pang in people's lives and adversely affect some people's physique.
Will this practice end in 2021? In 2018, a vote was held in the European Union to decide the future of this system. EU members voted overwhelmingly to end the practice. Then in 2019, the European Parliament decided to abolish this practice from 2021. As a result, time will tell which country will have this trend and which will not because the concerned countries are still uncertain about it.
