International Desk: The government of New Zealand has demanded a cyber attack on the central bank. According to the bank, they have received an urgent signal that the data system has been violated for 'sensitive information'. It is also reported that a third party file with sensitive information of the bank was illegaly accessed.
Adrian Orr, the governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, confirmed the cyber attack, saying: ""We are working closely with domestic and international cybersecurity experts and other relevant authorities as part of our investigation and response to this malicious attack,"
He further said that the breach has been contained and investigation is carried out to determine to what extent the file was accessed.
The latest report from the government agency Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) found that the number of cyber-attacks in New Zealand had risen sharply over the years. It has increased by 33 percent in just one year. The Jasinda government is concerned about this. However, work is underway to deal with unforeseen incidents.
