Knife Attack in Paris, 3 Injured

International Desk: Three people were injured in a knife attack at a main train station in Paris, the capital of France.

This information was reported by the BBC on Saturday (February 3) with reference to the French media.

According to an AFP report, the person arrested in connection with the knife attack is a citizen of Mali. The attack happened around 8 am local time on Saturday. Apart from domestic trains, trains to Switzerland and Italy also run through the station.

According to the police, the condition of one of the injured in this incident is critical. He was injured in the stomach. Besides, the condition of the other two is somewhat stable.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said in a post on social media that many thanks to those who defended the attacker. They have accomplished an impossible task. The Paris prosecutor's office has started an investigation into the incident.

Incidentally, knife attacks have increased in different parts of Paris in recent times. Before this, three tourists were attacked with knives last December.

One person was killed in the attack near the Eiffel Tower. Besides, six people were injured in a knife attack in Gare du Nord in January last year.
