2 killed in capital slum fire

Sun News Desk : Two people have been killed and several others injured in a fire at Mollabari slum in the capital’s Tejgaon on Saturday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Director (Operation and Maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter at a press conference.

He said that thirteen firefighting units rushed to the spot after being informed about the fire incident at 2:23am. The fire was brought under control at 3:40am.

However, he could not confirm the reason behind the fire.
