Rifat murder: Accused in the court under tight security

Police have produced eight juvenile accused in the Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna in the court under tight security.

The accused were brought to the court in a prison van at 9.40 am on Tuesday (October 28).

Earlier, six other juvenile accused in the case appeared in court with their relatives at different times.

The accused will be produced before the District Juvenile Court shortly after. Officials in charge of security at the court said the verdict in the case would begin after that.

Apart from Rifat's family members, lawyers, media personnel and relatives of the accused also appeared in the court to hear the verdict.

After hearing the arguments of the two sides in the case on October 14, the judge of the Barguna Children's Court. Hafizur Rahman set Tuesday for the verdict.

Rifat Sharif was hacked to death in front of Barguna Government College on June 26 last year. On September 1 of that year, the police filed a report in the court dividing the accused into two groups, adults and minors. Of these, 10 adults and 14 minors were charged.
