A temporary court in Pakistan's Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi pronounced the verdict against Imran and Bushra. In addition to the prison sentence, the court fined them 5 lakh rupees. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present in that special court when the verdict was announced.

The court sentenced Imran and Bushra in the case filed by Bushra Bibi's ex-husband Khawar Manekar. In the case, Khawar Maneka alleged that Bushra Bibi married Imran Khan soon after divorcing him, which is a clear violation of Sharia law.
