Ekushey Book Fair 2021 will not be Held in February

Staff Correspondent: Amar Ekushey Book Fair is not going to be held in February this year. Habibullah Siraji, director general of Bangla Academy, said the Book Fair 2021 is uncertain to be held due to Covid -19 outbreak. if the situation is normal it could be held any time later.

He told the media on Sunday (January 10).

The Director General of Bangla Academy said that it is not possible to start the physical book fair on February 1. We will announce the next date if the situation improves or changes.

Earlier, the academy had planned to hold a virtual book fair considering the situation. There was a backlash between writers and publishers on this issue.

Traditionally, Amar Ekushey Book Fair starts on February 1 every year. The fair grounds became the focal point for writers, publishers and readers.
