Staff Correspondent: In the new year, the country's stock market has taken a different turn in terms of transactions. The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a turnover of about Tk 300 crore in just 10 minutes on Tuesday, the third working day of the year.
Along with such large transactions, the price index is also showing a big upward rise. DSE's main index DSEX has increased by 65 points in 10 minutes. At the same time, the share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transaction have gone up.
Along with the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), has seen a big upward trend in the price index at the beginning of trading.
The market review showed that the main price index on the Dhaka Stock Exchange rose by 75 points from the start of trading on the day. Then the upward trend of the index decreases to some extent.
So far, the shares and unit prices of 156 companies that traded on the DSE have been listed. On the contrary, the price of 88 has come down. The prices of 57 remain unchanged.
In just 20 minutes, Tk 439 crore 54 lakh was traded on DSE. Earlier, on the first working day of the year, a transaction of Tk 1,925.06 crore was recorded on Sunday. On Monday, the second working day, the transaction was 2 thousand 193 crore 1 lakh.
On the other hand, the overall index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI has increased by 88 points. Tk 3 crore 28 lakh has been transacted. Of the traded 94 companies 35 gined, 39 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
