Fire At Shanta Tower In Gulshan

Staff Reporter: A fire broke out at Shanta Tower on Link Road in Gulshan. Upon receiving the news of the fire, seven units of the fire service reached the spot. Later, the fire came under control around 12:30 pm.

The fire broke out on Saturday (November 13) at around 12.45 pm.

Rozina Akhter, duty officer at the fire service headquarters, confirmed the information.

She said work on the 40-storey foundation of Shanta Tower was underway on Saturday. There was news of a fire in the basement after half-past eleven. Seven units of the fire service were later dispatched to the scene. The fire came under control around 12:30 pm.

Duty officer Rozina said the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known. No casualties have been reported so far.
