Own Correspondent: Bus fare is reduced by 3 paisa per kilometer due to diesel price reduction. The Fare Fixation Committee of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has recommended this.

A Fare Fixation Committee meeting was held at the BRTA headquarters in Banani on Monday (April 1). The bus owners also agreed to the recommendation to reduce fares.
As per the recommendation of the committee, it is proposed to reduce the fare per kilometer from 2 Tk 15 paisa to 2 Tk 12 paisa in long distance buses and to 2 Tk 42 paisa in Dhaka-Chittagong metropolis from 2 Tk 45 paisa.

The reduced fare will be effective upon approval of the Government.
BRTA Chairman Noor Mohammad Majumder said that the recommendation to reduce the fare will be sent to the Ministry today. It will come into action when the Government issues a statement.
