International Desk : At least 10 police personnel were killed and 6 others injured in a terrorist attack by militants on a police station in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan, reports Geo News.

According to Geo News, on Monday morning, the terrorists attacked Tehsil Darban police station with heavy weapons. At least 16 policemen were injured and among them 6 injured have been sent to DHQ Hospital.
The police said that the terrorists attacked the police station with grenades and heavy bullets from all sides. The police also retaliated, but the terrorists escaped in the dark of night.

Police also said they have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the fleeing militants. More forces will join the operation.
It is known that the funeral of the deceased members will be held at Police Lines.
