Again bulldozers at Dhanmondi 32

Staff Reporter

Students and general activits forwarded two bulldozers and began marching toward Dhanmondi 32 and they took position near the former residence and memorial site of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, demanding maximum punishment for ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

At one stage, a group of students hurled bricks and stones at the historic house before returning to the main road. By 12:50PM, the bulldozers remained stationed on the roadside. Students from various other colleges and several bystanders also joined the gathering.

Speaking to reporters, Dhaka College student Jahid said the demonstration was organised to press for the “maximum punishment” for former prime minister Sheikh Hasina over allegations of mass killings.

“Sheikh Mujib established the Awami League as a fascist force through Baksal, and Sheikh Hasina continued that legacy for the last 17 years,” he claimed. Jahid added that their symbolic action aimed to “eradicate fascism” by bulldozing the house at Dhanmondi 32.

Several students accompanied the bulldozers as they moved toward the site. Authorities have not yet issued any formal statement on the procession.
