A Day-long Youth Fair in Noakhali

Noakhali Representative: A day-long youth fair and seminar was held in Noakhali on civic issues including employment, women's safety and health services. Prizes were distributed among the winners in the afternoon at the end of the event. In the debate competition in the seminar, the ideas of the youth and various proposals for these solutions have come up in 'I also want to win - Youth Fair'. More than 200 youth from 25 different educational institutions and youth organizations including Noakhali Science and Technology University, Abdul Malek Medical College, Noakhali Government College participated in the fair.

Multiparty Advocacy Forum-MAF organized a day-long youth fair at Nice Guest House in the city from Saturday (February 10) morning.

At the fair, the youth highlighted their expectations with emphasis on three issues: employment, women's safety and access to health care. In these matters, the youth wanted more opportunities for training, easy trade license and loan assistance. Government facilities are also available in health services. Besides, the issue of ensuring the safety and security of women on the roads has come up time and again. At the same time, they demanded that the youth should be involved more in the decision-making process.

In the fair, participation of the youth in stage plays, debates, quizzes and video message making competitions on civic issues was observed. At the end, prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition.

The event was organized by Democracy International, funded by USAID, under the “I Want to Win” campaign. The “I want to win too” campaign is acting as a medium to highlight the expectations of citizens to political parties and other stakeholders.

Democracy International Senior Regional Manager Abul Bashar, District Civil Surgeon Office (UNFPA) Doctor Sadia Shamrin Hridi, District Awami League Former Joint General Secretary Abdul Momin BSc, Awami League Leader BNP Leader VP Shahnaz, Democracy International Senior Program Officer Ashrupa Chowdhury, Shamima Jahan and Masudur Rahman etc.

Besides, Noakhali Press Club Senior Joint General Secretary Akbar Hossain Sohag, former General Secretary Jamal Hossain Bishad, journalists Asaduzzaman Kajal and Abdul Motaleb etc. were also present.
