7-day Book Fair Begins in Ulipur

Kamruzzaman Swadhin, Ulipur (Kurigram) Correspondent: The 28th book fair was inaugurated at Ulipur, Kurigram, with the slogan 'New sprouts are always born in your blood-soaked soil'.

On Saturday (February 10), the 7-day long fair was inaugurated by hoisting the national and party flags at the Vijay Manch premises at 11 am organized by the Friends Fair.

Prominent dramatist, writer, literary and founding member of Friends Fair Zahidul Islam Zahid presided over the inauguration ceremony conducted by Zion Raihan, an active member of the Standing Committee of Friends Fair.

Member of Parliament of Kurigram-3 Soumendra Prasad Pandey (Gaba) was present as the inaugural and chief guest.

BMA general secretary of Kurigram district was present as a special guest. Lokman Hakim, Ulipur Government Degree College Vice-Principal Abu Jobair Al Mukul, Municipal Awami League President Jahangir Alam, Upazila Shilpakala Academy General Secretary SM Al Mamun Sabuj, Friends Fair Standing Committee member agriculturist Zulfikar Ali Sena.

In his speech, the speaker said, told the Prime Minister that all the neglected issues including the culture of Ulipur will be sorted out.

The chief guest and special guests in their speech thanked all the organizers of Ulipur Friends Fair and urged everyone to read the book. At that time, people from different classes and professions including teachers and students of different educational institutions were present.
