15 killed in Russian plane crash

International Desk : At least 15 people were killed when a plane of the Russian military crashed in the Ivanovo region of Russia.

The Russian Defense Ministry said the plane crashed in the Ivanovo region on Tuesday. Russian online news services reported that none of the people on board the plane survived.

A video circulating on Russian social media shows an engine was on fire. The plane was going down. A plume of smoke was seen rising into the sky during the circling.

Reuters said that a Russian Ilyushin IL-76 military cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff on Tuesday. The plane crashed after one of its engines caught fire.

It shows the plane's engine on fire and falling upside down. When the plane crashed, black smoke could be seen billowing in the sky.

Russian's state-run TASS news agency reported the IL-76 military cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff in the Ivanovo region at around 1:00pm at Moscow time.
