Sun News Desk: One man has been killed and more than 100 others were injured in a clash between police and BNP leaders and activists in Narayanganj on Thursday.

The deceased is identified as Shaon, 35, a Juba Dal activist, son of Shahed Ali.
Nazmul Hossain, a doctor of Narayanganj Sadar Hospital, told Shaon’s body was kept at the hospital.

Of the injured, eight were admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
They are Md Badal Bhuiyan, 35, Nabir Hossain Nabin, 30, Md Rasel Pradhan, 30, Md Juwel Arman, 40, Md Faruk Hossain, 30, Md Akib, 22, Md Sultan Mahmud, 25 and Md Alib 25.

According to the source, the clash started at 2 No. rail gate area around 10:30am after police obstructed the BNP leaders and activists when they tried to bring out a procession on the occasion of the party’s 44th founding anniversary.

Narayanganj district unit Juba Dal Convener Md Golam Faruk Khokon said police opened fire on us when we brought out a procession on the occasion of BNP’s founding anniversary. One of our activists named Shaon was shot and killed.
