Woman burnt to death in Jurain

Sun News Desk : A woman were burnt to death due to gas leakage explosion in Jurain area of Kadmatoli in the capital.

She died while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday.

Dr. Tariqul Islam, Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute resident surgeon, said five persons came to us with burns from Jurain area. Among them, Mukta Khatun died while undergoing treatment in the Female High Dependency Unit. About 45 percent of his body was burnt. Two people were released with first aid and two are still undergoing treatment.

They were rescued and brought to the emergency department of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on August 13 at around 3:00 pm. The victims are Atahar Ali, 35, Altab Sikder, 72, Morjina Begum, 50, Mukta Khatun, 30, and Afsana, 5.
