Sun News Desk: The Uttara centre station was declared open to commuters on Saturday. This is the fourth station of the country's metro rail service.

The station doors were opened for passenger movement from 8am this morning (18 February). A train left Diabari station at 8:30am and took a break at Uttara station for passengers.
With this, a total of four stations of metro rail service are opened for commuters.

Meanwhile, Mirpur-10 station is set to be opened on March 1.
According to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), rail operations to Motijheel may start by the end of 2024, and Kamalapur by 2025.

By December 2024, the metro rail will start operation from Agargaon to Kamalapur route with 24 trains.
