Humayun Faridi was a very strong actor. He portrayed his character in an extraordinary way in front of the audience. Although he played the role of villains, his performance in the positive role was also commendable. Not only in movies, but also in television dramas and on stage, audiences flocked to see his performances.
While he was studying at Dhaka University, the war of liberation started in Bangladesh. He also joined the war. After the war he completed his studies in independent Bangladesh from Jahangirnagar University. While attending university, he was accompanied by Selim al-Din.
He first played the role of Takshak in Selim Al Deen's 'Shakuntala'. In 1982, he acted in the play 'Neel Nakshar Sondhane'. It was his first television drama. He then acted in popular dramas like 'Bhangoner Shabda SonaJay', 'Sangsaptak', 'Dui bhi', 'Siter Pakhi' and 'Keo Kothao Nei'.
He acted in many movies including 'Hulia', 'Jayayatra', 'Shyamalchaya', 'Ekattarer Jishu', 'Ananda Ashru'. His last movie was 'Meherjan'.
