Staff Reporter, Savar (Dhaka): Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that there are no plans for lockdown in the country due to infection of the new variant of coronavirus 'Omicron'.
He made the remarks while inspecting a building under construction at the Bangladesh Institute of Health Management in Savar on Sunday (December 5) morning.
The health minister said the government was insisting on lab tests even though the country's borders were not closed due to the 'Omicron' infection.
At this time, the health minister advised everyone to be aware to bring down the death rate in Corona to zero. At the same time, he requested the expatriates not to come to the country due to infection.
At the time, among others, the Minister of State for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman, Director General of the Department of Health (DG) Professor, Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam including other Health department officials were present.
