The victory is people's victory

Staff Reporter: The people of the country voted spontaneously in the 12th national election. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that they have elected people's representatives, this victory is the victory of the people.

She said these things while exchanging courtesies with local and foreign observers and journalists on the occasion of the 12th National Assembly elections at Ganabhaban on Monday (January 8) afternoon.

She said, the military dictators did not allow my party to do politics. Stopped prosecution of war criminals and put them in power. In that condition I returned to the country. My goal was to protect people's right to vote, to establish democracy. My path was not easy. I have seen death closely. I am working on my father's ideals. We are working to ensure people's food, clothing, education, treatment, employment. After 21 years, I formed the government and started working for the people.

The Prime Minister thanked the foreign observers and journalists on behalf of herself, her family and the people of the country for coming to Bangladesh. She said, you will go back to your respective countries, talk about our country. Our country is very beautiful.
