International Desk: Norway has witnessed an unprecedented landslide caused by heavy snowfall. Eleven people are missing in a landslide in a village near the capital, Oslo. No deaths have been confirmed yet.
Numerous houses were buried in the landslide in the village of Gerdrum on Wednesday. 10 people were injured. Rescue operations are underway to find the missing. However, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said the rescue operation could not be carried out without a helicopter.
Police fear that the missing people may have been buried under the rubble. After the landslide in the morning, two more houses collapsed due to landslides in the afternoon. The administration has evacuated 900 villagers for fear of deteriorating situation. Hundreds of more people could leave the area as the soil loosened.
