Sabotage is Not a Concern During Eid

Own Correspondent: DMP is always active to stop inactivity. There is no threat of sabotage surrounding the Eid festival. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that 24-hour special security measures have been taken in the empty Dhaka during Eid holidays.

He stated this after visiting the Eid market at Bashundhara shopping complex in the capital on Tuesday (April 2) afternoon.

DMP Commissioner said, there is no threat surrounding Eid festival. However, security has been arranged keeping this issue in mind in the security plan.

Habibur Rahman said, about one and a half million people will go out of Dhaka during the Eid holidays. Dhaka city is empty during this time. So we would advise city dwellers to be alert and aware of their valuables. Special security arrangements have been made by the police 24 hours a day and night. This activity will continue till the end of the holiday.

He said that task force committees have been formed in 8 departments of DMP. There DC and Thana police are conducting activities together. After the formation of the task force, the rate of robbery in DMP is currently on the decline. That is, it has started to decrease.

City dwellers stay out till midnight due to Eid shopping. As a result, there is pressure on the road. But due to the absence of traffic members at night, suffering is caused. In response to such a question, the DMP Commissioner said, "We did not have it at the beginning of Ramadan.Now I see that people are doing night market. Shops and markets are open till late night as people shop. We are working on traffic control from now on."
