Staff reporter : In the midst of an ongoing cold wave, rain unexpectedly started in the capital just after midnight yesterday. The Meteorological Department has indicated that some areas might experience rain again today.

On Wednesday (January 31) around 12:00 pm, it started raining in different areas of the capital. According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6pm on this day, there may be light rain or drizzle in some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions, 2/1 places in Barisal and Chittagong divisions.
The weather on the other areas will be mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Moderate to dense fog may fall over the country from midnight to morning, continuing till afternoon at some places.

Dense fog may temporarily disrupt air traffic, inland waterways and road connectivity. Night temperatures may rise slightly across the country. Day temperature may drop slightly.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6pm on Thursday (February 1) says that there may be light rain or drizzle in some places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, 2/1 places in Rajshahi division. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Moderate to dense fog may fall over the country from midnight to morning, continuing till afternoon at some places.
