Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday morning began visiting hospitals and educational institutions in Dhaka to assess dengue prevention measures and cleanliness activities.
The prime minister left his Gulshan residence at 9:10am for the surprise visits, Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu said.
He first visited Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital in Uttara to review the measures taken by hospital authorities to tackle dengue.
He later visited Rajuk Uttara Model College, where he addressed members of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), urging them to actively participate in cleanliness drives to help prevent the spread of dengue.
According to Shiplu, the prime minister was also scheduled to visit Dhaka Medical College Hospital and several hospitals under Dhaka North and Dhaka South city corporations.
On September 12, Tarique Rahman launched a three-month special campaign to prevent dengue, focusing on cleanliness drives and public awareness activities.
Describing the next three months as a high-risk period for dengue, he urged people across the country to take part in the campaign and work together to prevent the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.
