plane crash in Brazil killed four footballers

International Desk : Four people, including the president of Brazil's fourth-ranked football club Palmas, have been killed in a plane crash,

The group boarded a small aircraft to play the Brazilian Cup on Sunday (January 24). However, various international media outlets are saying that no one, including the pilot, survived the horrific incident.

Club Palmas said in a statement that the team's president, Lucas Meira, along with footballers Lucas Precedes, Guilherme Noe, Ranule and Marcus Molinari had all died. Pilot Wagner was also killed in the incident.

Palmas was scheduled to play in the last 16 of the Copa Verde next Tuesday in Brazil's domestic tournament. They were scheduled to play against Goiania club Villa Nova. Tuesday's match was canceled after the accident.

The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over Brazilian football. Earlier in 2016, another horrific plane crash killed almost everyone of Chapecoense Club.
