Staff Reporter: Anisur Rahman, Senior Secretary, Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, said at a virtual seminar organized by Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB) that petrol-octane prices are not rising despite rising diesel prices. He made the remarks on Thursday (November 11).
He said petrol is a domestic product. And octane is imported from outside Bangladesh but in small quantities. So it is not right to increase the price of petrol-octane.
He added that some reports in the media are misleading people which is not true. For this reason, the chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation has decided to issue a public notice in this regard.
