JnU Students' Ultimatum

Own Correspondent: The campus of Jagannath University has been shaken by the tragic suicide of Avantika, a student who, before her passing, made allegations against the assistant proctor and a classmate in a Facebook post.In response, the students of the university have initiated protests, issuing a 24-hour ultimatum to the university administration. They have put forth a set of six demands pertaining to this incident.

On Saturday (March 16) at 3:30 pm, they closed the main gate of the university and staged a protest rally. At the end of the rally, they raised 6-point demands and announced the next program.

The demands are- 1) A fair and impartial investigation of the incident should be ensured. 2) Accused Amman Siddiqui and Assistant Proctor Deen Islam should be arrested immediately. 3) An urgent syndicate should be convened and the accused should be expelled permanently. 4) The victim's (Avantika's) family should be ensured maximum security. 5) The university administration should file a murder case as plaintiff. 6) Sexual harassment cell of the university should be implemented.

Deceased Fairuz Avantika was a resident of Bagichagaon area of ​​Comilla city. She is the daughter of late Professor Jamal Uddin, former teacher of Comilla Government College.
