International Desk: Italy has halted sale of arms to Saudi Arabia and UAE making permanent an 18 months suspension. The decision came for their involvement in Yemen conflict.

This information came from an announcement from the Foreign minister of Italy Luigi Di Maio “This is an act that we considered due, a clear message of peace coming from our country. For us, respect for human rights is an unbreakable commitment,” Aljazeera.

Several EU countries also froze sales in Saudi. In fact the conflict between Yemen and the military coalition headed by Saudi Arabia killed thousands of people and worsen the humanitarian situation in Yemen. The Houthi rebels are backed by Iran.
