Self-reporter: After trying for about an hour and 20 minutes, the members of the fire service brought the fire of Kamalapur garment factory under control. Ten units of fire service brought the fire under control at around 9.00 am, on Sunday (January 24).
Earlier, a fire broke out at around 7.40 am at ‘Oli Garment'- a multi-storey building near the BRTC bus depot in the capital's Kamalapur area. Upon receiving the news, 10 units of the fire service reached the spot and worked to control the fire.
Ershad Hossain, an officer on duty at the fire service headquarters, confirmed the news.
He said a fire broke out at Oli Garment Factory near Kamalapur BRTC bus terminal around 8.40 am.
The source of the fire and the extent of the damage were not known immediately. No casualties have ben reported so far.
