Own Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has finally been released from prison.

He was released from Keraniganj Central Jail on Thursday (February 15) afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul's lawyer Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah confirmed the matter.

He said that 11 cases were filed against him in different police stations after the BNP general meeting on October 28 last year. He got bail from the court in all the cases. He was released from Keraniganj Central Jail this afternoon after reaching the jail on bail.
Incidentally, on October 28 last year, before the start of the BNP's general meeting at Nayapaltan in the capital, police clashed with the party's leaders and activists from noon in Kakrail. The clash later spread to Vijayanagar water tank and Shantinagar area. At one stage, the BNP's general meeting was closed at around 3 pm. A member of the police and a ward-level leader of Jubo Dal were killed in this clash. 41 police and 25 members of Ansar were injured. Besides, at least 20 journalists were injured.

After this incident on October 29, Mirza Fakhrul was arrested from his home in Gulshan by the Intelligence Department (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). After that, when he was produced in the court in the case of attack and vandalism at the residence of the Chief Justice, the court rejected his bail application and ordered him to be sent to jail.
