Staff Correspondent: The Eleventh session of the 11th National Assembly have ended on Tuesday after twelve working days. On this session, the House unanimously adopted the thanksgiving motion on the president's speech. The thansgiving motion was placed onthe house by the Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury.
As per the convention, the President addressed the first day of the session on January 18 on the first session of the calender year 2021. The next day, on January 19, Chief Whip Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury placed a motion of thanks on the speech. Abdus Shahid supported the proposal.
A total of six bills have been passed in 12 working days of this session. In addition to the legislative functions, 47 notices were placed iunder section 71of Rules of Procedure . A total of 84 questions were received for the Prime Minister to answer. She answered 28 of them.. A total of 1689 questions were placed for the ministers of different ministries to answer and they replied to 820 questions.
Due to the Corona epidemic, a limited number of MPs took part in the session. On the first day, the MPs who received negative reports of coronavirus test took part. Thereafter, a maximum of 90 people were invited on each working day.
Speaker Dr.Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury read outthe prorogatio of the president on Tuesday (February 2nd) and with it the shortened winter session of the year come to an end.
