Sun News Desk : Eight people have been burnt after a gas pipeline exploded in Dhaka's Dhupkhola while repair work was underway.

The injured are Abdur Rahim, 50, a grocery shop owner; his daughter Mim Akter, 21, and grandson Alif, 2, egg seller Md Rashed, Jagannath University student Mehedi Hasan (23), cloth trader Ali Hossain 30, and pedestrians Sahera Begum, 65, and; Sohel, 48.
Of them, three were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and five others to Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

The victims said the incident happened while Titas gas line work was underway at Dhupkhola Bazar and the fire soon spread. Later, two fire fighting units brought the blaze under their control.
