Staff Reporter: Another 1.7 million dose of Corona vaccines consignment from China is now on its way to Dhaka.

Hualang Yan, an official at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, made the announcement in a Facebook post around 5pm on Wednesday (August 11th).

He said an Emirates Airlines flight with 1.7 million doses of vaccine left for Dhaka at 8.20am local time in Beijing on Wednesday. It will reach Dhaka as a gift.

Earlier, 1.7 million doses of vaccine arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a flight at 7.15 pm on Tuesday.

It is to be mentioned that on July 3, the first batch of 2 million doses of corona vaccine bought commercially from China came to the country on July 17, another 2 million doses of vaccine came in the second phase. Then on July 30 another 3 million came.

Besides, China gave 1.1 million vaccines to Bangladesh in two phases. In the first phase, on May 12, China gifted 0.5 million doses of Synoform to Bangladesh. The second phase gives another 0.6 million doses.
