Sun News Desk : Four people have been killed as a bus hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw van in Tangail today.

The deceased were Mohammad Mainuddin, 45, his wife Sahera Begum, 35, their son Siam, 7, and van driver Mohammad Farhad, 45, of Paiska village in the district's Dhanbari upazila.
Mazharul Amin, officer-in-charge of Madhupur Police Station said the accident took place on Elenga-Jamalpur highway in Gangair Boma Bazar area around 3:00pm, leaving three dead on the spot.

The boy was declared dead after he was taken to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex.
Hemaul Kabir, station officer of Madhupur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said they handed over the bodies to police.

OC Mazharul said the bus was seized, but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
