International Desk: On the way from France to the UK, at least 31 boat refugees including women and children died due to the incident of a boat sinking on the English Channel route. French authorities said 31 people had died but later confirmed that 27 had died.
French Interior Minister Gerald Dermanin said the boat had at least 34 passengers on board. The dead are all refugees and asylum seekers. Rescue workers have so far recovered 31 bodies.
Home Secretary Gerald said two people had been rescued from the sinking boat. However, one is still missing. The condition of the rescued is critical. Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
