21 people killed in 24 hours in Corona, 2111 infected

Staff Reporter: In the last 24 hours, 21 more people have died due to corona in the country. The total number of casualties rose to six thousand 275 people. A press release issued by the Department of Health on Wednesday (November 18th) provided an update on the epidemic.

It is said that at this time two thousand 111 people have been newly infected with the virus. The total number of identities with them so far stands at four lakh 38 thousand 795 people.

Earlier, the Department of Health said 2,212 people were infected with the new coronavirus on Tuesday and 2,139 on Monday. The number of patients identified daily was less than two thousand in the previous ten weeks.

According to the Department of Health, another 1,793 patients have been cured in the last one day. The total number of healthy patients has increased to three lakh 54 thousand 6 people.

The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8. It crossed 4 lakh on 26 October. Of these, 4,019 Covid-19 patients were identified on July 2, which is the highest in a single day.

On March 17, 10 days after the first patient was identified, the Department of Health confirmed the first death report in the country. On November 4, it exceeded six thousand. Of these, 64 deaths were reported in a single day on June 30, the highest death toll in a single day.

Bangladesh is ranked 24th in the world in the list of Johns Hopkins University. The death toll is 32nd.
