The UK has the biggest official death toll in Europe from COVID-19 and is grappling with more than 20,000 new coronavirus detection a day already passed the milestone of one million cases. “Unless we act, we could see deaths in this country running at several thousand a day,” the prime minister warned.

All Pubs and restaurants will be shut apart from for takeaways, non-essential retail will remain closed and amateur sports will be asked to stop.
