Talking about the country's telemedicine, Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He claimed that the telemedicine service in Bangladesh has practically revolutionized. He said it was possible due to the far-sighted planning and strong leadership of the Prime Minister.
He said this while inaugurating 'Joy Bangla Telemedicine App' on Tuesday (September 15) morning. Obaidul Quader inaugurated the app by joining online from the official residence of the parliament building. This app was launched on the initiative of the sub-committee on science and technology of Awami League.
Mentioning that patients can communicate with doctors through Joy Bangla Telemedicine mobile apps, the Road Transport Minister said, "Although Bangladesh is more experienced in dealing with disasters, we did not have much experience in dealing with global epidemics like Corona." Because in the recent past Bangladesh has not faced such a terrible epidemic. Outbreaks like Mars, SARS and Ebola have not been felt in Bangladesh. Corona is a new experience for the whole world. Even the rich countries have struggled to cope with the Corona.
The bridge minister said it was not possible to predict the magnitude of any disaster or epidemic. We’ve seen it from a few cyclones. The same is true of Corona. Everyone needs to be aware and vigilant whether they need to deal with an epidemic or a disaster. As there is no specific treatment method to deal with such global epidemics, the world is following the path of trial and error method. Bangladesh is no exception.
Quader said high-speed internet and uninterrupted electricity have made it possible to provide medical services. Otherwise this service would not have been possible. All this has been possible due to the far-sighted planning and strong leadership of the Prime Minister.
The Minister of Road Transport said, "As a result of various welfare activities after the announcement and proclamation of Digital Bangladesh, today our youth have increased their engagement in almost all sectors of information technology."
Referring to a new chapter in the medical sector of Bangladesh, Joybangla Telemedicine App, Quader said, "Patients will be able to communicate with doctors through the Joybangla Telemedicine Mobile App." Will receive the necessary medical care. This app will store patient information so that this information can be used for later disease control and research work.
Through the Joy Bangla Telemedicine app, patients from far and wide can avail medical services from specialist doctors at home.
