Emajuddin Ahmed's daughter said. Dil Raushan Jinnat Ara Nazneen said that Janazah will be held at Bajme Kaderia Jame Mosque adjacent to the residence of the deceased in Kantaban of the capital today. Emajuddin Ahmed was born on 15 December 1933 in the then Malda district of British India. He served as the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University from 1 November 1992 to 31 August 1996. He has been honored at home and abroad for his research and creative writing. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1992 for his contribution in the field of education. Emajuddin Ahmed was the convener of the pro-BNP 'Hundred Citizens' National Committee.

Acting President of Dhaka University Teachers' Association Professor Lutfar Rahman has expressed grief over the death of political scientist Emajuddin Ahmed.
