Nowsheruzzaman Nowsher, a famous striker of Swadhin Bangla football team, has been admitted to Ibn Sina Hospital in Kalyanpur after contracting coronavirus.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken all the responsibility for the treatment of this famous former footballer.

Nowsher's younger brother Saiduzzaman said he was initially admitted to Mugda General Hospital but was shifted to Green Life Hospital in the capital's Green Road as there was no vacancy in the ICU. The footballer was later taken to Ibn Sina Hospital in Kalyanpur.

Blessings have been extended to all for the recovery of Nowsheruzzaman family.

The former footballer, who won the Blue of Dhaka University, has played for the national team as well as for a long time at the traditional Mohammedan Sporting Club. Nowshera, who holds the record for most goals in a single season, was also the opening batsman for the Mohammedan cricket team.
