Sun News Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed grief over the loss of lives in the train accident in India’s Odisha. She offered condolences to the families of victims who lost their lives in the accident.

Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary ABM Sarwar-e-Alam Sarkar confirmed the matter on Saturday.
At least 288 people have been killed and over 900 injured after a few coaches of the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express derailed in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday evening, following which it collided head-on with another train coming from the opposite direction on the other track.

The second train involved in the accident was the Bengaluru-Howrah superfast express.
The Odisha government has declared a day of mourning in the wake of the train derailment. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared a day's mourning on Saturday, saying that no state celebrations would be held.
