Sports Desk : Tiger captain Shakib Al Hasan became injured on his ankle while playing football before the first warm-up match ahead of the World Cup. As a result, he could not play in that match against Sri Lanka.

He also is not playing in the second warm-up match against England as vice-captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto is currently leading team as a standing captain.
While responding to the questions during the toss, Shanto said, "Shakib remains hundred per cent fit for the first World Cup match against Afghanistan on October 7 in Dharamshala."
