Poultry farm revolution in Corona

Unemployed youths in Corona have taken to the field to become self-reliant in different professions. Many are dreaming of fortune by changing their previous profession. As it is profitable, it is becoming popular in Rangpur to raise poultry by boiling eggs in machine (incubator).

Rashedul Haque Akand is the local manufacturer of the machine in Badarganj upazila. Earlier, he used to make a living by trading various products as a seasonal trader
This young man. But due to the corona, the market and communication has been closed and the scope of that business has become limited. In this situation, he has now found a way to earn his living by making egg boiling machines.

After getting the news of the incubator made in Rashedul's local technology, the local entrepreneurs are coming from different areas to make the machine. Hundreds of poultry farms have been set up in different unions of the upazila, including the municipality, as incubators are available at hand.

It has been seen on the spot that two poultry farms have been set up in Shahapur area of the municipal city. Abul Kashem was a broiler chicken trader. Corona's business was shut down during the crisis. So he has installed 10 thousand egg boiling machines in his house.

Enamul Haque of the same area used to raise poultry. He used to sell them in the market. The chicken traders used to buy it from him. But due to the corona, the market is almost closed and the business is in recession. So he also put 5 thousand egg hatching machine in his house.

Habib and Ripon of Laldighi area of Radhanagar union, Swadhin of Kalupara union, Menhazul of Asmatpara of Damodarpur union, Pir Mamun of Jhakuapara area of Ramnathpur union and at least 15 other youths of the upazila have started the same work. Someone used to work in Dhaka before them. Someone again did business locally. Now that the Corona has lost their jobs and the demand for business in the market has decreased, they have become entrepreneurs themselves and have started hatching poultry eggs.

Those farmers also built the farms by collecting egg boiling machines from Rashedul Haque.

Abul Kashem said, ‘When my previous business was closed in Lockdown, my way of income was also closed. Then I started this work. It is certainly profitable. But you have to pay labor. You have to be careful. "

Enamul Haque said, ‘I have installed five thousand egg boiling machines. Duck, chicken and quail eggs are hatching. I have made my duck farm here with boiled ducklings. '

Rashedul Haque Akand, the inventor of the incubator machine, said, "I used to trade in various types of seasonal agricultural crops. For Corona it is almost closed. I first made pigeon egg collection and egg boiling machine from pigeon keeping hobby. Then it is combined with pigeon eggs, duck, chicken and quail eggs. Now, besides being successful, many young people have been employed by boiling eggs in my machine. Farmers are benefiting more by raising ducks, chickens or quails very easily and at low cost. '

Rashedul said that there are two steps to boil eggs in an incubator machine. The first step is called 'setter' and the second is called 'hatcher'. It takes 21 days for a baby to hatch from a chicken egg. The setter has to be kept for 18 days and the hatchery has to be kept for three days. It takes 28 days for a baby to hatch from a duck egg. It also has to be kept in the hatchery for three days and setter for 25 days. It takes 18 days for the baby to hatch from quail and pigeon eggs. Hatchery has to be kept for three days, setter has to be kept for 14 days. When there are eggs in the setter, you have to turn the eggs from time to time. He also said that it is possible to collect chicks from layer chicken eggs by crossing them with roosters.

He added that after hatching, the brooder should be kept at the required temperature for five to seven days in summer and 15 days in winter. Especially ducklings should not be left in the water until they are one month old.

Badarganj Upazila Livestock Officer Omar Farooq said there was no such hatching in Badarganj. Earlier there were only 10/12 farms in Hategona. Farmers used to bring babies from outside. As incubator machines are now being made locally, the number of farms is growing rapidly. Especially during the Corona period, it has been continuously increasing in the last four months. Already there are hundreds of duck farms. Therefore, it can be said that a positive revolution has started in Badarganj. You don't have to bring the baby from outside. So the farmers will benefit more. '
