Own Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader commented that illegal interference in upazila elections will be taken legal action.

He said this in a statement signed by A-League office secretary Biplab Barua on Tuesday (April 2) afternoon.
Obaidul Quader said that the Election Commission has announced the schedule of upazila parishad elections in two phases and the elections of upazila parishads will be held in phases. This election will be held impartially in a fair and peaceful environment. Ministers-MPs will not have any chance to interfere here. Legal action will be taken against any illegal interference.
The general secretary also said that the 12th National Assembly elections were held in a peaceful environment on January 7, 2024. This election is a milestone in Bangladesh's democratic journey. This was a multi-faceted conspiracy to derail the election. Voters came to the polling station despite those obstacles and public opinion was clearly reflected in the election.

Finally, Kader said that even though the leaders and workers of A-League participated in this election, party symbols are not being allocated. Sheikh Hasina expressed her determination to give full cooperation to the Election Commission in conducting the elections in a fair and peaceful environment. Organizational instructions are being given to the party MPs and activists of the A-League along with the ministers not to be involved in any kind of illegal interference and activities to destroy the neutrality of the elections.
