Own Correspondent: This evening the moon of the month of Shaban was seen in the sky of the country. The counting of this month will start from tomorrow. Accordingly, on the night of February 25, the holy Shaba Barat will be celebrated.

The National Moon Sighting Committee announced this decision in the meeting room of Baitul Mukarram Islamic Foundation on Sunday (February 11) evening. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. A. Awal Hawladar presided over it.

During the meeting, the Additional Secretary said, according to the information received from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, Bangladesh Meteorological Department, Space Research and Remote Sensing Center, the moon of Shaban month of 1445 Hijri was seen in the sky of Bangladesh today.

Lailatul Barat or Shaba Barat is celebrated on the 15th night of the month of Shaban. Accordingly, the night of 25th February will be Shabbat night. The next day is a public holiday in Bangladesh by executive order. This holiday falls on February 26.

The holy night is spent by Muslims of different countries including Bangladesh through Nafal Namaz, Quran recitation and worship. At the end of the month of Shaban, Ramadan begins with the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr, the big religious festival of Muslims.
