International Desk : Nine people, including seven Bangladeshis, were burnt to death in a fire incident that broke out at a furniture workshop in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The Bangladeshis were Arif Md Sahadat, (PPN- 2535176339), Barek Sardar, (PPN-2247439850), Md Shakil Pramanik, (PPN-2505378568), Saiful Islam, (PPN-2529922326), Ruman Pramanik, (PPN-2472470588), Md Firoz Sardar Ali, (PPN-2493217968), and Md Rob Hossain, (PPN-24377954260).
Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh Press Wing first secretary Fakhrul Islam confirmed the matter.

The press wing said that among the injured, two are undergoing treatment at the burn unit of King Fahd Hospital and the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue.
He also said "the cause behind the fire incident could not be known immediately and we are closely monitoring the situation and a team from the embassy is present at the spot."

Steps will be taken to send the bodies back to Bangladesh immediately after all legal procedures.
