Moulvibazar: Chairman of Moulvibazar district council, close associate of Bangabandhu, heroic freedom fighter Azizur Rahman (Innalillahi ... Rajyun) has died due to corona.
He died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) in the capital around 2.30pm on Tuesday (August 18).
Azizur Rahman's nephew Sajib Hasan, information and research secretary of the district Awami League, said he was infected with corona and was admitted to BSMMU on August 5. He was brought to Dhaka by air ambulance on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Azizur Rahman was the last chairman of Moulvibazar District Council and Red Crescent in his career.
In his colorful political life he was a more than once elected Member of Parliament, former Whip. He has served as the Joint General Secretary of the Central Awami League. Moulvibazar district Awami League president, district coordinator of 14 parties Azizur Rahman has played an important role. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly and a signatory to the Constitution of Bangladesh. He was awarded the Independence Medal for his outstanding contribution to the freedom struggle.
He was a politician directly influenced by Bangabandhu, the guardian of all, including the non-violent and amicable political and social organizations in the region.
