The traditional procession organised by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University marking Pahela Baishakh has been renamed 'Baishakhi Shobhajatra'.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury made the announcement on Sunday while talking to reporters after a meeting on the preparations to celebrate Pahela Baishakh and Baishabi, the major New Year festival of ethnic minority groups, at his ministry.
